Where There’s Hope There’s A Will and “Where There’s A Will There’s A Way” – MHAM Blog Challenge Day 15

June 15th prompt: “When You Believe:” Watch and listen to the video of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston performing “When You Believe,” then tell us how it can inspire hope.

This song reminds me of the old adage, “Where there’s a will there’s a way.” I’m not sure who coined that phrase.

As a migraineur, even when I’m at my worst, like the past few days, and I think I’m all out of hope I’m really not. While I was in the height of pain and then the depths of depression I thought to myself, “I can’t keep living like this;” I thought about my diet, the need to find a headache specialist, new medication…all of those things are hope. In my mind I was saying:

IF I could just stick to the diet,
IF I could just find the right doctor,
IF I could just be prescribed the right medication,
IF…IF…IF…
Then I wouldn’t be like this.

All of that equals hope and hope feeds our will to survive…to succeed and will leads to action and action leads to miracles.

“There can be miracles when you believe
Though hope is frail, it’s hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe”

– Skylar

P.S. Today is a better day. I’ve got a tolerable migraine – pain 3/4 and I’m not depressed. Hooray for “good” days! Thanks for aways reading :).
