My Song of Hope: “Beautiful Flower” by India Arie – MHAM Blog Challenge Day 6

Today’s prompt: Song of Hope: What song gives you hope to hold, despite your Migraines or Headaches and how?

I was at my parents house one afternoon about 4 years ago. I had just come out of a week long migraine and was battling just my daily persistent headache. In addition to that, one of my girlfriends was planning her wedding and I was the matron of honor (talk about pressure). I guess my mother was able to see how discouraged I felt, because she went over to the computer and played this song for me:

To this day, when I listen to it, it gives me a sense of strength and sometimes brings me to tears. It reminds me that I am strong enough to endure whatever my migraine disorder brings my way. Like the chorus says:

“There is nothing in the world that [I] cannot do
When [I] believe in [myself]l…

I am my momma’s “Beautiful Flower”,
I am strong and therefore I hope.
