Why is it that everything you love to eat is bad for you? Especially if you’re a migraineur!
You may recall that after your first migraine attack, and subsequent visit to your local neurologist, you were given a l-o-o-o-o-o-ng list of foods to avoid. So long you found yourself wondering, “What can I eat?” Well that was my experience anyway :).
Of course every migraine suffer knows that MSG is a potential trigger. I say potential because we’re all different. For those of you that must avoid MSG, do you know how prevalent it is?
Here’s a list of “Potential Sources of MSG” from the book, Heal Your Headache The 1.2.3 Program, by David Buchholz, M.D. (love this book!!!)
Hydrolyzed Protein (including vegetable/soy/plant/rice protein)
Yeast Extract and Autolyzed Yeast
Broth, Stock or Bouillon
Soy Protein Concentrate/Isolate
Kombu (seaweed extract)
Sodium or Calcium Caseinate
Fermented or Cultured Items
Note: “The term “hydrogenated” does not signify MSG. Also beware of similar-sounding items.” – Heal Your Headache The 1.2.3. Program, by Dr. David Buchholz, M.D.
